Tynemouth Aquarium Closes Temporarily in Response to COVID-19
As a precautionary measure and in an effort to protect the health and safety of staff and visitors, Tynemouth Aquarium is temporarily closed to the public to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 (Coronavirus).
The Aquarium will be closed to the public starting 22/03/2020. While there have been no reported cases of infection on-site, the Aquarium believes it is their ethical responsibility to adhere to the government’s recommendation to limit large social gatherings at this time.
During this period of closure, an on-site core team will continue to provide our animals with the highest quality of care.
In the days ahead, the Aquarium will continue to adhere to guidance from the government on an appropriate timing to reopen to the public and will communicate this on our website and via social media when we know more.
Tickets to Tynemouth Aquarium purchased online are valid for 6 months from date of purchase and can be used once the Aquarium re-opens to the public.
